Red Dot staff support local food hub ‘bocs bwyd’ Llandeilo

Staff from Red Dot had the opportunity to spread some Christmas cheer at Bocs Bwyd Llandeilo this week as they visited the new community room that has been set up to support local residents of Llandeilo. 40 bags of Christmas gifts including games and an activity book , reindeer food snacks and sweets, to be given out to families in need.

“We’re so grateful for this kind gesture,” says volunteer Catrin Thomas. “Thanks for putting so much thought and time and effort into these wonderful parcels of Christmas joy, and thanks for the wider support you’ve been given to our initiative.”

Steph Jones from Red Dot commented “The volunteers and staff of the school have created such a fantastic space for local residents to use the facilities of the hub. Thank you for the very warm welcome we received today and great to hear so many exciting plans for the hub in the pipeline that we’re looking forward to supporting.”

The Hub has created a number of fantastic initiatives which include cooking with children and giving them the opportunity to purchase the ‘meal of the week’ from the bocs bwyd for £1 to recreate at home with their families. The teaching staff cook with the children showing them how the meal is made in school allowing them to learn great skills to then be able to transfer to home with the added bonus of a tasty home-cooked meal.

Red Dot is supporting the bocs bwyd throughout December in our Llandeilo offices with little bags of reindeer food available for children to collect for free to spread some festive joy along with the local community being able to drop off donations for the hub be it monetary or essential supplies which will be passed onto the hub.
